Whew…what a crazy, busy summer. School will be starting next week and I for one am really excited.
Actually I need to take that back, Katherine is over the moon excited. We’ve already packed her bookbag with school supplies; she’s read her summer reading book and even completed her homework.
Man, I was never that motivated when I was in elementary school.
At the college, we’re gearing up for the fall semester. Classes will be starting, parking will be scarce, and fresh faced students will be wandering aimlessly around campus trying to find classrooms.
It’s probably one of the best times of the year.
The HR Florida conference is in two short weeks, and I’ll be presenting a session about college recruiting. I’m sharing the presenting duties with a very close friend and colleague. He’s got about twenty years of dirt on me and yes, we were dumb frat boys for a long period of time.
If you ask him nicely, and buy him a few drinks I’m sure he’ll confirm or deny all of the crap I talk about in certain settings.
So summer is over. It’s time to get back into the swing of things.
